Stanley Film Festival Volunteer Departments

Below are descriptions of volunteer departments within the Stanley Film Festival. They’ll provide you a sense of the type of volunteer duties you will encounter. But no matter the department, one fact is certain: you’ll have a great time!

Volunteers will help spread the word about the exciting films, panels and parties that make up the Stanley Film Festival. The street team will help distribute festival programs, fliers and posters pre-festival.

The Festival strives to offer the highest level of customer service to every guest in attendance. This position involves handling guest and volunteer check-in, credential distribution, and general inquiries from filmmakers and other visiting guests. Ideal candidates for this position are outgoing, resourceful and patient.

The Festival hosts a lounge where filmmakers, pass holders and guests of the Festival are provided light food/beverages while enjoying a space of respite between screenings. This position involves guest relations, food/beverage distribution and light cleanup. Ideal candidates for this position are calm, helpful, and respectful.

The Festival hosts a variety of special events throughout the weekend ranging in size from thirty to three hundred guests in attendance. This position involves access control, food/beverage distribution, possible lifting, and light cleanup. While at special events, volunteers will be required to wear black pants and comfortable shoes. Volunteers are also asked to refrain from mingling, drinking and eating during events in which they are working.

Theater Operations and Production are the axis of the Festival. This department requires the greatest amount of volunteer support to ensure logistical smooth sailing throughout the Festival. The several positions available in this area are physical and may require standing up to four hours.

The Festival provides transportation for filmmakers and other festival guests between the Denver International Airport and the Stanley Hotel. Transportation services will also be available for festival guests between venues in Estes Park. If you have a solid sense of directions, enjoy the open road, and possess a clean driving record, then you may be the perfect candidate.
